Visit to Red Rose Conclave No.188

Widnes Masonic Hall

On Thursday 12th January, I attended Red Rose Conclave, at Widnes Masonic Hall. It was a wild and windy Thursday evening, with lots of sleet and snow. A hot coffee was welcome before the Conclave commenced.

The main business of the evening, was a very interesting lecture, written & delivered by Ill Knight Stan Povall.  Unfortunately, due to P. Kt. Bill Bell being in New Zealand, a number of Knights from the Conclave having passed away recently, the Conclave was few in number. However, what the Conclave lacks in quantity, is certainly made up for in quality, warmth and enthusiasm.

After the ceremony and lecture, the Conclave retired to the dining room, where we all enjoyed a splendid meal, with lots of laughter and enjoying each other’s company at the festive board.

Red Rose Conclave are not complacent about recruitment either. They know they have to bring more Royal Arch Masons into our lovely Order and I was very pleased to hear that they have a Candidate for the next meeting.

I would encourage any Knights who are free on Thursday 27th April 2017, to book themselves into Red Rose Conclave, to support the Conclave and Candidate On what I am sure, will be a splendid evening.
